Once you have created your account and uploaded your video to Viddler you may now want to embed it into your website. This means that when someone views your website they see the video and they can click on it and watch it. It means that the video sits on the Viddler server not yours and can increase the loading time of your video.

1. Login to your Viddler Account using your username and password.
2. Click on Videos – Your Videos
3. A list of your videos will now be shown.
4. Select the video you want to embed by click on the thumbnail.
5. This brings up the video as people will see it. Underneath the video click on Embed This.

6. You will now have a popup screen with options for how you want your video to be displayed.

7. Change the options to suit and then click in the bottom where the code is. This should highlight the code and press control C to copy the code. The code doesn’t move however you will be able to paste it into your website now.
8. If you don’t have access to your website – paste this code into an email and send it to your website provider. If you know how to access your html, paste the code to where you want the video.
9. If you have a Brilliant Web Design Site following the instructions below.
9a. Login into the back end of your website and navigate to the page you want to embed the video on.
9b. Select “Edit this page”
9c. Click the mouse cursor in the position you want the video to be.
9d. In the top left corner is a button which looks like this <>, click on this.
9e. This brings up the code of your website, the highlighted part should be were your mouse cursor is.
9f. When the mouse cursor is in the right postion, press Control P to paste the code into position.
9g. Click Ok
9h. Click Save
9i. The video should now be embed into your website.
10. If you have a Brilliant Web Design Blog Site following the instructions below.
10a. As the Brilliant Web Design Blog sites are build on a different platform you need to select “Wordpress” from the box just above the copy code section.
10b. Click on the code and press Control C to copy.
10c. Login into the back end of your website and from the dashboard select pages – edit and select the page you want to put the video on.
10d. On the right above the text box are two tabs Visual & HTML, select HTML.
10e. Find the location where you want your video
10f. Control P to paste the code into the page.
10g. Save the page and view your video.

You have now embedded a video into your website. Congratulations.

How to Set up A Viddler Account

If you are interested in using video on your website, as an alternative you can upload your video’s to YouTube or Viddler and then embed them into your website. This gives your video a wider reach as search engines index video sites fasters than normal websites. It can also drive traffic to your website as well as make the videos load faster on your site.

In this blog post I am going to show you how to create a Viddler Account and Upload a Video. In this case I am using Viddler over YouTube as the client as a video longer than 10 minutes which is the maximum allowed on YouTube.

1. Go To www.viddler.com
2. Click on the Sign Up Button located on the right hand corner

3. Choose which account you would like. Most people will select the personal account option.
4. Enter a username, password, email address and security code, agree to the terms and conditions and click signup.
NOTE: when choosing a username, try and get a username which contains your keywords. For example I have gcwebdesign as some people may search gc web design and hence this increases my chances of being found on Google. If you had a florist and you only dealt with people in Southport – try for something like – flowerssouthport, or floristsouthport.
5. You will then need to check your email, as you need to confirm your email address. Click on the link and you will be taken to a login screen.

6. Enter your username and password.
Congratulations you have now created a Viddler Account.

Let’s now upload your first video.

1. Once signed in, click on Videos – Simple Upload

2. You will now see the Video Upload Screen

3. Click on Browse to find your video which is on your computer
4. The following information is important for search engines and users to be able to find your video, so remember to use lots of keywords and terms your potential clients will be searching for.
5. Title – should be description and include your keywords
6. Description – can go into more detail regarding the video and what it includes. Make it interesting as users will read this to decide if they want to video the whole video.
7. Tags – are like your keywords which describe the video. Make sure to also include your name and your company name, plus your relevant keywords.
8. Tick both the make this video public and email me when encoding is done.
9. Click on Upload video.
Depending on the size of the video – Viddler will take some time to upload the video (you need to keep your browser open during this time) then they encode the video (you can close your browser now). Once encoding is finish your video will be live. Viddler will also email you to let you know.
